Hello. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good free MMORPG? I have been playing Silkroad Online for a little while now and seems pretty cool. Just wondering what else was out there for those of us that despise the dreaded monthly fee. I know most of them(Silkroad included) allow you to buy stuff to "enhance" your game play, but you in no way need those things to enjoy the entire game. It's the level restrictions some of them have that I hate.

Silkroad is probably the best thing out there that you can download and play for free without enhancements. I'd say Mu would come in second, but it's not that great either.

I'd go with Silkroad , Mu online, or Maplestory.

you could try runescape but that game has far too many problems.

Go Maple Story man.

Compared to GW, I'd say its not that great, but then again, MS is pretty different from GW. Its 2d, sidescrolling, whacked out game where u get to kill snails, zombie mushrooms.

And the best thing is that there is no lvl limit o_O

Its actually pretty fun. I'd say its the next best thing to GW and WoW (I've never played Silk Road) Try it.

i tried silkroad for a couple of days to fix my GW withdrawals. it's not that bad except the servers are always busy at certain times and you can't log in sometimes. oh, and stay off the roads or you might get attacked by those bastard stealth thieves who kill you in one hit. >.< the dead bodies littering the path yelling out "reeeeeeeeeesssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!" is a good indication thieves are lurking in the area.

The original Anarchy Online is free to download and play now. The expansions are a minimal price to download, and the monthy fee for those is under ten US dollars.

If I remember right, it needed a tweak or patch or both to run under W/XP. Ran smooth after that.
